What You Need to Know

You're not responsible for registering with the Kentucky Board of Dentistry. Your employer maintains your registration.

To be recognized as a Registered Dental Assistant, you need current CPR certification that meets or exceeds American Heart Association guidelines. Your employer dentist then:

  • Registers you on their Application for Renewal of Dental Licensure
  • Keeps a personnel file with proof of your CPR, certificates for any courses you've completed (Coronal Polishing, Radiation Safety, Radiation Techniques, Starting IV Access Lines), and their statement of your competency in delegated duties

X-rays: Kentucky requires 10 hours of radiography training. Our course is Kentucky Board-approved, so you won't need any additional radiography courses.

You've Got This.
