How to Become a Pharmacy Technician
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Submit a pharmacy technician registration application to the South Dakota Board of Pharmacy
- Complete an ASHP-accredited or Board-approved pharmacy technician training program within 2 years of registration
- Pass a national certification exam (PTCE or ExCPT)
- Maintain registration and certification in good standing
- Renew registration annually
