How to Become a Pharmacy Technician
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Choose one of the following training paths:
- Option A: Complete a pharmacy technician program at an accredited institution
- Option B: Complete a 1,000-hour supervised internship under a licensed pharmacist
- Pass a national certification exam (PTCE or ExCPT)
- Apply for certification with the Puerto Rico Board of Pharmacy
- Renew certification every three years
