How to Become a Pharmacy Technician
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Submit a pharmacy technician license application to the Wyoming State Board of Pharmacy
- Pass a criminal background check and provide fingerprints
- Choose one of the following education paths:
- Option A: Complete an ASHP-accredited or Board-approved pharmacy technician training program
- Option B: Complete on-the-job training under a licensed pharmacist and be actively working toward certification
- Pass a national certification exam (PTCE or ExCPT) within 1 year of licensure
- Upgrade to Certified Pharmacy Technician status
- Renew license annually
